Early School Leaving 2008

From early childhood curiosity to early school leaving Compulsory Education, Giving all young people a future, Tuesday 13–Thursday 15 May 2008, Brussels.

Early School Leaving will remain one of the top-priorities of the next EU-educational program after 2010. The effe will concentrate on this topic and will try to connect people from the praxis with people from the policy level and vice versa. The Colloquium will take place in a socio-cultural centre called FOYER, where they work on a very daily basis with young people who fell out of normal school structures (half of them Roma).

The European Forum for Freedom in Education – effe- is an NGO in the field of education. We see our organisation as a forum in which all current issues concerning education at primary and secondary level can be discussed. The vision inspiring the work of the European Forum for Freedom in Education is that of a Europe of peaceful neighbourliness and cultural diversity in and between the single nations. Our members are interested and active citizens from the educational sector –teachers, schools, school-organisations, parents, pupils – but also from administrative and university life, etc. The effe is member of EUCIS-LLL, the education platform that unites more than 13 European educational organisations.
